September is often one of the least profitable months of the year.
That's how it looked like it was going to be in the first week. The indices fell by more than 4% in the first week of the month.
Ultimately, this year was somewhat different, with the SP500 index closing the month with a gain of 2.00%. Our system closed the month with a gain of 1.22%.
For the entire year, there is a profit of 30.75%.
ESSC was also unable to escape the turmoil of the first week. ESSC posted a loss of nearly -2.27% that week, which was less than the indices.
The algorithm has a number of parameters that continuously measure the markets. These parameters detected a number of signals indicating that it could be a difficult week, so only a quarter of the available capital was invested that week. In hindsight, this turned out to be a good decision and resulted in a smaller loss.
That following week, a quarter of the assets were also invested. After that, it was business as usual.
ZETA shares were our biggest winner this month, with a gain of 12.9%. SAVA and UPST were both somewhat bigger losers.
