Here is the overview for the month of October 2023.
October was another negative month for the AEX, with a decline of 1.40%.
Our options strategy was not affected by the negative stock market trend.
There were no particular issues here, except that it was nice to see the premiums reflected in the options.
There was a bit more volatility, which is favorable for our momentum strategy.
Some of them were repurchased in October, but not all of them.
We are still waiting for figures, and then we hope to have the entire fixed portfolio back before the end of the year.
As is well known, the short-term price movements of the fixed portfolio are not particularly interesting to us.
Everything listed on the stock exchange is worth this much today and that much tomorrow.
Warren Buffett has also held his Coca-Cola shares for almost forty years.
That's investing.
The only "technical criterion" for our fixed interests is that the long-term uptrend must remain intact; all other criteria are fundamental, and these remain "green" for all our fixed interests.
If fundamentals are sound, the price will eventually follow suit.
The fact that we sold this year with the aim of buying back at a lower price means that this will not happen again very often.
The action was also related to our portfolio becoming "top-heavy" for new followers.
Since 2019, the value of our fixed positions has risen sharply, which means that new followers would have to use too large a portion of their cash for the fixed positions.
So we reduced the number of shares during the buyback to resolve this issue.
