Monthly overview January 2025 Volatile market, but these systems performed strongly!
Dear Investors,
The first month of 2025 turned out to be a particularly volatile month. AI-related stocks were shaken up by the launch of a Chinese variant of ChatGPT called DeepSeek. The company initially claimed to achieve the same performance as American AI companies, but at a fraction of the cost. However, it later emerged that Nvidia chips were probably used after all. This news led to a sharp decline, with Nvidia even experiencing its biggest single-day drop ever.
After this turbulence, the market initially recovered, but was again confronted with uncertainty when the new US president announced tariffs on Canadian and Mexican products. This led to retaliatory measures from these countries, raising concerns about a 'tariff war' that again caused turmoil on the stock markets.
Here too, there was a fairly rapid recovery when rates were also deferred, but this may still cause concern among investors in the short term.
Given these market dynamics, the equity systems achieved mixed results, while the option systems managed to maintain stable returns.

ES Small Cap -3.77% - Small US stocks had an even tougher time in this turbulent market, resulting in a negative month for the system.
Blue Ocean Strategy -4.34% - This system had a difficult month and was unable to capitalize on market fluctuations. After a strong start, the system has now had two less successful months. We hope for a nice recovery!
As can be seen, the option systems weathered the volatility well, with the S2F Crypto Portfolio and Passive Income Portfolio standing out as strong performers.
